Summer Heat
When I started my car yesterday, it reported that the collision detect feature was disabled due to the outside sensor overheating.. (my car park is non covered, and there is no shade) When we arrived at KONAN, most people were trying to park in the covered parking as opposed to the non-covered roof ...

Re: Renting while retired

Some years back, when I returned to Japan, I had no income history for previous year and my employer would not act as Guarantor. While most places rejected me, I was able to get a UR apartment by paying the rent 1 year in advance.

Re: 4 year old Daughter and English AfterSchool
Thanks! Ben and CaptainSpoke for the replies and the link.
I guess taking her back home for extended stays would be a good option, would also help with her motivation I believe.
I should read a bit more with her for sure, will do that, Thanks!

Re: Old Car and Navi
Thanks! again all Turns out my wife has an iPad Air, which has a GPS chip and supports tethering , so will tether this to my iPhone and buy a mount for the car. Even I replace the embedded unit in the car with a newer one at AutoBacs for 100,000 Yen, it may not be any good as the current one and the...

Bond Allocation
Hi Just wondering what others are setting as a percentage of their portfolio for their bond allocation? My understanding is that the rule is your age minus 10. So at 50 you would have 40% for Bond allocation. But with bonds down a lot last year, and threat of US default due to the Debt Ceiling issue...

Re: Old Car and Navi
Thanks! all for the replies. I must check into the iPad and tethering, the big screen would help here Gosh I would avoid installing the unit myself, as you say there is a lot of wiring and potential swearing involved here :-) Buying the unit online and asking my dealer rather than AutoBacs would als...
