Brexat

I wasted several hours of my life last week following the Brexit debate. Now I can’t see a way clear for the country. Game over, both for the UK and for my European passport.

On the other hand the RetireJapan Forum went over 3,000 posts last week. I’m really happy with how positive a space it is. If you have any questions about personal finance or life in Japan it’s a great place to get answers.

Here are this week’s links:

  1. I just started lifting weights again, and this feels very true: The secret of aging well.

  15. I don’t agree with this. Give up on growth and manage the transition to a smaller population. Focus on quality of life and sustainability. The old days are finished anyway. BOJ warns Japan faces new risks as population shrinks
  16. Japan needs to figure out where it stands on this, as well as living wills, etc. Death on demand: has euthanasia gone too far?

Phew! Anything good in there? I particularly enjoyed #3, #9, and #18.

No new books this week. I finished the fourth and last Murderbot book (
Exit Strategy) and enjoyed it very much. If you are into science fiction I highly recommend this foursome of short books. I’m still reading
The Hard Things About Hard Things and it is still good.
