Re: Credit card tsumitate increase

I suppose it's probably my own fault for not making sure my name is written exactly the same way everywhere. I don't usually use my middle name in most circumstances (in English or Japanese), but I do if it is required (or depending on the name entry format in the application or whatever). I guess I...

Re: Credit card tsumitate increase

Also make sure to link the credit card beforehand just in case there's weird name matching problem. Taking this good advice, I just tried to register my new Rakuten credit card on my Rakuten Shoken account, and, to my dismay, there is indeed a "weird name matching problem." The prob...

Re: Credit card tsumitate increase

Sorry to slightly divert the thread, but I have a related question. Having read this thread I applied for (and received very quickly!) a Rakuten credit card to make my monthly Rakuten tsumetate payments. I currently have 300,000 yen cash in my Rakuten Shoken account to cover the payments for April, ...

Re: Rakuten CC tsumitate is now 100,000 yen a month

Please excuse the "dummy" question, but am I right in my understanding that it has to be a Rakuten credit card, not just any credit card?

Re: Question About the Rakuten Shoken Interface

Perfect! Thanks so much Butterball. (Thanks also to Adamu for his response.) As is common with Rakuten & Japanese websites in general, there are multiple paths to get there and all of them are non-obvious. Yeah, I'm no expert on website design, but it seems they could do better. It feels like go...

Question About the Rakuten Shoken Interface

I wonder if anyone here can help me with this. I have my NISA account with Rakuten Shoken. I sold some funds at the beginning of the year after they had been moved from my old NISA into my regular taxable (tax-reporting) account so that I could use the money to purchase funds in the new NISA. In the...

Re: Is it the funds or the cash that gets transferred to the taxable account??

I'm going to wait until the funds move into taxable to avoid issues with selling the wrong ones, etc. Well, if even you have concerns about that, then I think it would be best for me to do the same and wait till next year to sell the funds. Since it's quite a large sum, it would a nightmare to sell...

Re: Is it the funds or the cash that gets transferred to the taxable account??

https://www.retirejapan.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3251 Thanks for that. Well, that would seem to mean that it would be the longest-held units, i.e. the units that are about to be moved out of the NISA, that would be sold. As an aside, would I be correct in assuming that most people who intend to re...
