Re: Advice on what stocks to buy

Ok, apologies for my questions being too broad or too specific, but that general advice is helpful, thanks! I guess what I'm trying to ask is given that prices are low, and that a recovery is likely to be slow, is buying growth stocks right now instead of dividend stocks a reasonable strategy? Surel...

Advice on what stocks to buy

Hi, I'm looking to start a NISA account, most likely with Rakuten, and I'm wondering if now is a good time to invest? I guess if prices are low then that's a good entry point, yeah? And I'm still getting my head around how it all works, but with the low stock prices and uncertainty should I avoid di...

Retirement bonus/pension tax on iDeCo

Hi, So I think I understand about the tax benefits of iDeCo, but I was wondering if the taxes you'll pay on receipt of the money in retirement nullify or at least reduce the benefit of having the account? I guess the tax you pay will depend on a number of factors, and also maybe you'll be paying tax...

Re: Phone provider

Thanks adamu. I'm looking to set up with a broker soon, most likely through Rakuten, so they might be a good option so I'll have a bunch of things together for points/discounts perhaps

Re: Phone provider

Thanks guys, I didn't know about Ymobile but I'll check it out.

And thanks for the loophole seb, not sure if I have to pay a cancellation fee yet but if I do I'll take that path.

Phone provider

Hi,

I've been paying Softbank too much for too long, so I'm looking at changing to a cheap provider. Does anyone have any recommendations? Also, any advice or stories about breaking away from Softbank would be appreciated!

Thanks.

iDeCo eligibility

Hi, I work at a private high school, and I just went to the office with my limited Japanese and spoke to someone in the offic, to ask about iDeCo. She at first seemed to not know what it was, then told me that private schools have their own nenkin and that's all there is. Could this be right? Any ch...

Re: Setting up iDeCo and NISA accounts

Thanks for the response! That all makes sense. I'm also wondering if there would be a benefit to having it all in one provider, for example the points aspect of Rakuten is kind of appealing, especially in the long term. Has anyone found that particularly worthwhile?

Setting up iDeCo and NISA accounts

Hi, I'm looking first at setting up an iDeCo account, likely with Rakuten, SBI or Forex, as that seems to be the general recommendation looking around here. And then NISA, but I haven't looked into it yet so I don't really know much about it. My question is to people who have both iDeCo and NISA, do...
