Not much use for the regular employee unless you can convince your company to switch DC providers, but it's wonderful news for the self-employed among us.

Re: Are there are T-Bill equivalents or ETFs one can buy from Japan?
I have two parts to my emergency fund. I have a couple M stashed away in a bank that I don't use. I have several million more that I'd like to keep up with the world economy and not inflate away to nothing. Hence my looking for short term T Bills, preferably 6 months - 1 year but I'll take what I ca...

Are there are T-Bill equivalents or ETFs one can buy from Japan?
Question in title. I'm looking to hold parts of my emergency fund / spare cash into those, so somewhere between 3~5m yen. A quick search shows that VGSH is available at SBI. VIFSX and VUSXX don't seem purchaseable? Are there any others? https://investor.vanguard.com/investment-products/etfs/profile/...

Re: Home Builders - Who did you go with & how is it going now?
I went with a local builder while a friend used Ichijo. We're in the same area with similarly sized houses. My cost was around half of his. I don't have any particular complaints about my place or builder, they did a good job. But when I look at my friend's place, the fit and finish, attention to de...

Re: New NISA strategy -GO!
Well that sucks, 2019 and 2020 were incredible years for me. I've got over 4m in both of those years. woah - what did you invest in? That is a 350% ROI over 5 years! Nothing special, just AAPL, MSFT, AMZN and GOOG. I expected these to go up so I bought them inside NISA. My ETFs and eMaxis are in st...

Re: New NISA strategy -GO!
Stupid question time. The 2019 NISA doesn't rollover direct into the new NISA?

Re: The joy of Money and Quality of Life
I have a few cafes and coffeeshops I visit every week or two and spend about 3-4 hours there just working. I'm trying to become a known face/regular and obviously the owners and regular staff know me already but we're still not on speaking terms yet. I'm not a sociable person so I'm not quite sure w...

Re: COSTS of OWNING a LUXURY CAR!
I got a used BMW in similar condition to yours. <2 years old, <5km. Before that I had a Honda Something. There honestly hasn't been much difference in costs. Fuel costs went up because of switching to hi-octane. Insurance is a couple man more expensive. That's about it maybe? Tax is the same whether...

Re: Santa Claus rally -when will this end?
This is what I am struggling with. Even the gains from the last twelve months would give us 6-10 years of living expenses. And yet I am still mentally in accumulation mode (and we're going to continue working). So I really don't know what to do. This is a new situation for me, one I have never been...
