Re: Sony Launches English Online Banking Service

Have just opened an account with Sony. Set up is fairly easy and only requires some scanned documents. Surprisingly, the card and access details arrived very quickly-within a week. Seems very secure system. Has English help desk and online chat available. Haven't tried any of their services yet but ...

Re: Refinancing a home loan

Thank you for the input. We have decided to go with Plan 1. 29 years at a fixed rate of 1.1%. The monthly payments are easier and we are happy with the rate. We are able to make early payments with no penalty and will set aside money to make extra installments on a yearly basis depending on our situ...

Re: Refinancing a home loan

Hi again, Its taken some time but we have made some progress in refinancing our home loan. We will stay with our current provider. It is complicated, but changing to another lender is a big hassle with similar rates so not really worth it. We have decided not to take the insurance option (we don't h...

Furusato Noze

Hi guys,
What experience do you have using Furusato Noze? My wife and I are in the process of setting this up through Rakuten. Do you use Rakuten? I wonder if there is much difference between providers? Any recommendations or tips? At the moment we have rice and beer and the shopping list...

Re: SBI and changing monthly payments

Thank you this post. I have found this info useful too. sytyue, have you processed the paper work? Actually, I would like to increase my monthly payments. Is it only possible to do this once a year? Also, how about contributing a lump sum? I have some allowance ready to invest if this is an option.

Re: Setting up Junior NISA through SBI

Hi fools_gold, Thanks for the reply! Actually my daughters are still quite young-both under six. So we have a lot of time on our side and can be more aggressive. I am willing to invest more into the emaxis optimized balanced funds but also stocks too. Is this emaxis slim world stock you were referri...

Re: In practice, how much do people pay in property tax?

Hi StockBeard, Any updates on your potential property purchase? We currently pay ¥126,000 a year total in property tax. The house is almost 5 years old-we designed it ourselves. It is a 4 bedroom house, fairly large with 3 carparks. The land purchase itself was expensive as the view is quite nice. W...
