Re: Work problems.

Well my conversation went about as well as I expected. She laughed, she cried, she flipflopped, contradicted herself, dismissed my issues, tried the waterworks to get me to give up. Tried to say that she couldn’t have staff taking time off whenever they liked (despite that being illegal). I explaine...

If it’s 5 full time staff, then I’m out of luck.

Re: Work problems.

The person I spoke to actually called me back to say that it was not obligatory for my boss to pay for social insurance because my company was small. She said that it had to be a place that had 50 staff members. However what you just posted says 5 staff. If it’s 5 staff then I’m potentially in luck....

Re: Work problems.

So I’ve just called up the number that was recommended earlier in this thread. They were incredibly helpful. They basically said that given my hours and days per week, and my years of service, that I should be entitled to 16 days paid vacation, AND it might seem that I should be getting social insur...

Re: Work problems.

That is were the phone call to the expert would come in. They can say clearly if you meet the test for a FT employee. Once you are armed with the that knowledge, you can approach your employer. But if you are a key employee, you should have leverage, right? Yeah I’ll be attempting that call sometim...

Re: Work problems.

Part of the problem is that KCLenny seems unaware of how many paid days off they have had previously. That needs to be firmly established first. They need to compare their paystubs, to their schedule and come up with an answer. Then they need to see if they meet the qualification for full-time base...

Re: Work problems.

Your employer seems to be trying to classify you as a part-time worker. There is an important distinction in Japanese labour law between 'regular' employees and contract / part-time employees. The big Eikawa chains used to do the same thing to avoid paying their portion of shakai hoken (they may st...

Re: Work problems.

Ah yes. I can understand the confusion. The uploaded document is just an example. It’s not my hours.
It just says “teacher A” and teacher B” as examples for hours worked to paid holiday.

As I said, I work roughly 32 hours a week. 5 days a week.

Re: Work problems.

Huh doesn’t it?
I work 5 days a week, 30 hours a week, and 230 days a year. Am I misunderstanding something?
Don’t I meet all those criteria?

Re: Work problems.

1. From what I’ve been told and led to believe, I get one week paid in August and one week paid in December. So, I get 10 days. 2. 3.i don’t know how many I should have. My contract says 8 days in English but 10 days in Japanese. I’m guessing it’s 10 given that it’s counted as 2 weeks. A. This Augus...
