Re: Japanese Credit Cards. What’s in your wallet?

What are the thoughts on maintaining the Rakuten Premium Card - is it still worth it for high earners who push all their Furisato Nozei spending through the platform? I feel like they make the earnings on 0/5 days opaque on purpose…

Re: Sock options

Great thread title! I recommend H&M which seems to have ample options for us freaks. (UK size 11).

Re: Backpaying UK Class 2 NIc's

Quick update - the money was logged into my account last week. I can’t quite believe it…. Even more so as I never even got around to calling them. Rule Britannia and all hail HMRC!

Re: Wise now has a Tier 1 license: large transfers coming soon

Does anyone have any insight when this upgrade to their service might be implemented please?

I have a very large sum to transfer out of Japan in mid-April and am hoping to be able to do via Wise rather than traditional banking….

Re: Backpaying UK Class 2 NIc's

I paid some 10+ years worth of voluntary class 2 contributions a few months back. Of course no update in my government gateway account despite the 8 week deadline for the account to be updated having long since passed. I’m not really worried however - I have total faith in the UK government being un...

Re: jNISA mishap advice

Thank you for your insight everyone. I'm not sure what I will do, but losing out on a potential 120% gain (8%/year x 15 (number of years until my son's 18th bday) seems sad to me. It's a lose-lose, but I'll have to live with my decision. Did you ever find a solution to this one? I’m in the same boa...

Re: Japanese Credit Cards. What’s in your wallet?

Zero hassle - whole thing is automated. I’ve arranged for all my cards to settle on the 20th and payments are withdrawn from my bank account the following 10th. Just need to remember which card you need to use for each expensive to maximise the earnings and upside.
