Re: Unpaid taxes for side job
... Those deductions are more like a token of good faith rather than what would happen with a properly done tax return. When doing your tax return, all those extra bits of income--and the amounts already deducted--will be included so the final calculation is correct. The year-end statements (the 源泉...

Re: Unpaid taxes for side job
Would it be true to say that 2nd or 3rd job employers are required to deduct a kind of standard 10%? Or, if not actually required to do so, most of them do. In 2nd, 3rd and even 4th or 5th jobs I did in the distant past, I remember all year-end salary statements (GEN-SEN-CHO-SHU-SHO) showing that ev...

Re: A friend lost her Zairyu card abroad
Wow, I did not expect to see the thread up to 22 replies when I logged in a moment ago. As some said, when my friend got to Narita next Friday there wouldn't be a problem with Japanese Immigration because she did not lose her passport which has the stapled in landing card, and the office in Tokyo to...

Re: A friend lost her Zairyu card abroad
Just to update the story for those interested : I went to Tokyo Immigration yesterday with Pdfs of my friend's passport, her Zairyu card (she'd stored a photo on her phone), the police report from Prague police and a proxy form where she had authorized me to act for her. They then issued me a docume...

Re: A friend lost her Zairyu card abroad
Adamu, I presume she must have the special re-entry permit stapled into her passport Oh, you saw that. 😄 I deleted it because it didn't add much helpful information. Hope she manages to sort it out. I think she needs to talk directly to the parties involved and us discussing it here via you isn't g...
