3. Bank interest - only taxable in Japan

I assume this is referring only to interest in a Japanese bank account since I believe it is already taxed before it is posted in my account. Is that correct?

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my question! It seems like a good idea to do my U.S. taxes first. Then I won’t have to amend my Japanese tax return later. Thanks for the tip about an early assisted filing period. I will check to see if they have this at my local tax office.
