Re: Hiroshima area real estate agent recommendations sought

Hello, The wife and I are planning to move to the Hiroshima area after I retire next year. Brief intro and more about that have been posted in the General area. We plan to visit Hiroshima again, this winter to start getting the ball rolling. We are seeking realtor recommendations in the following a...

Re: What is the emaxis slim series funds equivalent in Canada for an RRSP?

Try asking at https://www.financialwisdomforum.org/forum/index.php, which is Canada-specific. Thanks for the link. Already finding a lot of useful stuff from it. Questtrade allows non-resident accounts. One of the few major brokers that does. Due to Canadian laws on dividend taxes, the best choices...

What is the emaxis slim series funds equivalent in Canada for an RRSP?

Reading another similar thread has made me think about changing my current RRSP to a better performing mutual fund with cheaper management fees. Current institutions charging 2% management fees. One does have a S&P 500 index for 1.5% fee but what I've been reading I should be able to find index ...

Re: Furusato nozei changes from October

Just been enjoying some of this Shine Muscat with wine, etc tonight- I can highly recommend this splendid produce! Wine and Shine Muscat sounds like a great combo! I didn't think there were any grapes to beat Shine Muscat, but this year we discovered Pione grapes and I am hooked. I confess we have ...

Re: Furusato nozei changes from October

Grapes are in season right now. I highly recommend grapes but I am biased because I am the farmer who grows them. :D If you search "カナダ人農園主" on your furosato site you might see my grapes. We are currently selling them on 3 of the furosatonozei sites. Found yours, but my wife already order...

Re: Good buys on Mercari? (Or other used marketplaces)

There was an item on the news a while back saying there's been a number of cases of thieves stealing veges from people's fields and selling them on Mercari. I'm sure it's a just a nasty few who are doing that, but perhaps it might pay to make sure you're getting those veges direct from the farmer a...

Re: 50 million yen. New? Used? Used then renovate? Go!

I'm going to pick "A" because that is what we did. We bought a thatched roof kominka, that is over 300years old. We renovated it into our dream home for way less than 50 mil yen. It did take 3 major renovations over a 10 year span but the end product has so much character, we couldn't have...

Re: Pocket money -how much???!!!

Hi everyone. I have an 8 year-old son, and would like to start giving him pocket money weekly. I have no idea how much to give! Inflation has no doubt changed the picture entirely! And parents values will have changed too! So guys….what are your policies or amounts? I haven't started giving an allo...
