In theory, ability to support yourself should not be a factor in PR from the spousal route. Not sure I would want to test that out though. The Resona Smart-I funds have lower charges and three choices with different ratios of stocks and bonds. There are some REITS in there too, but at lower percentages than your emaxis balanced. Not a recommendation, but might suit what you are looking for.

With mine, there is a lag of a couple of weeks or so between the cash being withdrawn from my bank and it being invested in IDECO and showing up there, so it may well be that.

Ah, ok that makes sense about checker. Yes, the posted letter was to here in Japan. So definitely possible to change address through simply filling in the online form. I think you will end up needing to call them by the sound of it though.

I did manage to successfully change my address with them through the online form a year or so back (they sent me a letter confirming this). But the hoops for registering online from here are challenging, they want certified copies of passport and bank statement showing address. Not sure how they dea...

In principle UK state pension, if that's what you mean, can be paid anywhere, doesn't need to be a UK bank account.

I think any growth would be included in the amount you are withdrawing, so the 400k a year allowance may or may not cover everything, depending on performance. There are ways to finesse it, for example by dropping your contribution to the minimum 5k per month for a year or two so that you still get ...
