Re: Delaying pension

Also, a thought I had. I think many of us here are married to a Japanese wife. With how long women in Japan live, and the lack of survivors pension after 65, it may be a good idea to take your pension at 65 or 70, and have you wife delay taking her pension until 75. It will leave her with an extra ...

Re: PR Application with no Job?

In theory, ability to support yourself should not be a factor in PR from the spousal route. Not sure I would want to test that out though. In any case, if you get your application in while still employed there is no need for them to know that you have subsequently become unemployed. You are require...

Re: Any thoughts on eMAXIS Slim Balance (8 Asset Equalization Type)

The Resona Smart-I funds have lower charges and three choices with different ratios of stocks and bonds. There are some REITS in there too, but at lower percentages than your emaxis balanced. Not a recommendation, but might suit what you are looking for.

Re: iDeCo Application with Monex 2024

With mine, there is a lag of a couple of weeks or so between the cash being withdrawn from my bank and it being invested in IDECO and showing up there, so it may well be that.

Re: Contacting NS&I - UK Premium Bonds

That reminds me, I was going through my stuff a while back and found a "Premium Bond Holder's Card" in my name and the address I last lived at in the UK, which was in the 1990s. I have no recollection of how I came to be in possession of it, possibly a present from a relative? I did have ...

Ah, ok that makes sense about checker. Yes, the posted letter was to here in Japan. So definitely possible to change address through simply filling in the online form. I think you will end up needing to call them by the sound of it though.

Re: Contacting NS&I - UK Premium Bonds

I did manage to successfully change my address with them through the online form a year or so back (they sent me a letter confirming this). But the hoops for registering online from here are challenging, they want certified copies of passport and bank statement showing address. Not sure how they dea...

In principle UK state pension, if that's what you mean, can be paid anywhere, doesn't need to be a UK bank account.
