Re: eTax redeclaration of Year-end adjustment items (iDeCo, Social Insurance premiums)

The 2nd question asks if you have a 源泉徴収票, which is the form your company produces from the Nenmatsu Chousei. It guides you through putting in the details from the form, which includes all the insurance premiums you mentioned. Yes, the 源泉徴収票 provides a lot of useful information. Besides, as a weird...

eTax redeclaration of Year-end adjustment items (iDeCo, Social Insurance premiums)

I usually handle my taxes by the combination of Year-end adjustment (年末調整), submitted by my company + eTax return system 確定申告, submitted by myself. I add the iDeco deduction into the Year-end adjustment and then just file the e-Tax return by imputing some of the items of the 源泉徴収票 (tax withholding s...

Re: Inflation Indexed Bonds / Treasury Inflation-Protected Security (TIPS)

Thanks for such a detailed and interesting reply to my doubts Tkydon, I really appreciate it. For this reason, I personally do not believe that bonds are currently a (good) (any kind of) hedge against stocks in a portfolio, as they are now moving in lock step with, and not in contradiction to equiti...

Re: Inflation Indexed Bonds / Treasury Inflation-Protected Security (TIPS)

My understanding is that bond funds (as opposed to individual bonds) will not suffer as badly from inflation, because the bonds they contain are constantly coming due and being redeemed, while new bonds with higher coupons are bought to replace them. As inflation rises, the yield on the bonds in th...

Re: Inflation Indexed Bonds / Treasury Inflation-Protected Security (TIPS)

First is selling the bond funds, or at least half of them, as I have them in my iDeCo account. Then I can keep the cash within iDeCo and wait for lower stock prices to buy more world stocks later on (not trying to time the market here, but just kind of switching funds, but trying to do it in 2 oper...

Inflation Indexed Bonds / Treasury Inflation-Protected Security (TIPS)

Hi, It seems that if the inflation keeps on growing at the current pace and the US 10-Yr Bond passes the 2%, neither bonds nor stocks are going to be a good idea. My portfolio is basically 30% world bonds and 70% world stocks: * eMAXIS Slim 先進国債券インデックス * eMAXIS Slim 全世界株式(オール・カントリー) Bonds used to be...

Gaming ETF / mutual funds to invest in Japan?

Hi, Lately I was thinking into getting some part of my portfolio invested in the gaming industry and was having a look at the possibilities out there. I see that in US they have several options, being HERO and ESPO my preferred options. Both ETFs have quite similar companies in the portfolio, and th...

Re: Changing rakuten credit card name.

My advice is to use your full name wherever possible. If you're using your full name on Rakuten Securities and Rakuten Bank, it's probably best to leave them that way. As for the card, have you actually had a problem yet? I have two credit cards, Rakuten and AEON, and both are missing my middle nam...

Re: Is there a cheaper expense version of QQQ on Rakuten sec?

There's the emaxis and iFree nasdaq100 and those don't suffer from double taxation. Someone else might have the numbers but emaxis Nasdaq has a fee of 0.44% which is well above QQQ's so I'm not sure if the double taxation bit makes up for that. Aside from the emaxis and iFree nasdaq100 there are a ...
