Not Japanese, no entry
Doesn't happen often, but did today when I tried to board a Japanese Maritime Self-Defence Force ship that was open to the public. A bit miffed, to be honest. At the time I just said "oh, okay," and left, but I wish I'd have pushed back a bit more. Probably not a good idea to pick a fight ...

Re: Nakano Asset Management's 'quality growth' active funds?

Past performance is not an indicator of future performance. Look up, e.g. Neil Woodford.

Re: Generali Utmost International Vision Policy Termination
I'm almost at the 10 year mark on my General Utmost contributions, and my account has almost doubled. I guess it depends on what fund you selected (I picked a technology fund), but I'm somewhat satisfied with it. These types of accounts were always advertised as tax free savings by the so called fi...

Have changed jobs/address with SBI multiple times. Order physical form via web form, post back with photocopies of ID. Someone else posted that they had issues with SBI, but I've not had any personally. They only have the ex-JP version of eMaxis Slim All Country, though. You can go for the SBI versi...

Re: Resigning from seishain position, going freelance
You won't get the max ¥2M Employment Income Deduction anymore, but on the plus side you'll be able to deduct "necessary expenses". If you quit before the end of May they'll probably deduct the rest of your residence tax until then from your final salary. If you mean: have I registered as a...

I thought RJ exists because you were angry at people getting taken for a ride by unlicensed offshore insurance salesmen?

Re: Retirement Planning software/apps/spreadsheets
I use the old YNAB4 patched to work on 64-bit MacOS and the corresponding Android app, synced via wifi, for tracking/expenses + budgeting.
I have a cobbled together spreadsheet for tracking net worth (that tells me 25% of my assets are in crypto ).
