Re: Automatic monthly investments through Rakuten
I know what you mean, but their 5gig mobile package was also 300 yen cheaper per month than line mobile and broadband 1,700 yen cheaper than my previous Softbank deal. A decent saving along with the points! :D Now just to see if I can get the automatic investments working when the card name gets upd...

Re: Automatic monthly investments through Rakuten
So my Rakuten credit card arrived, but as usual, they butchered my name with katakana on the front of the card and I get "name does not match" when trying to link it to my bank account or investment account :x Filled in the paperwork, now have to wait 1-2 months for them to update it. So a...

Re: Automatic monthly investments through Rakuten
Are you accruing the rest of the 500 in points on your account perhaps?

Re: Automatic monthly investments through Rakuten
Thanks for the reply! I'll look into it a little more. I tried applying for the free Rakuten card anyway because 500 yen in points a month for depositing 50,000 is always appreciated, but as usual I hit the name character limit during my application. This resulted in linking a bank account failing t...

Automatic monthly investments through Rakuten
Hi all, I've decided to finally close my Theo account after being a little underwhelmed with their recent attempt to lower fees. One thing I will miss however is the ability to easily setup a monthly investment amount automatically without having to think too much about it. I know Monex has some opt...

Re: One fund to rule them all?
I've been drip feeding money into this fund over the last few months, but every time I do it reaches a new low the following week or two. Dollar-cost averaging is good and all that, but it feels like I'm chasing the bottom. Tempted to put another load of cash in now it's lower again

Re: Placing orders during holidays (yes, golden week)
Is that setup through Rakuten? I could do with something like that to make it automated.
My 約定日 is also the 8th (today). Looks like we got lucky with the timing (unless further drops are to come!).

Re: Placing orders during holidays (yes, golden week)
Thanks Ben! Just have to hope the markets go down and not up before then . I used a few rakuten superpoints too, but it seems they’ll be allocated a little later than the cash order.

Placing orders during holidays (yes, golden week)
Hi all, Quite a simple question and one that I’m sure is answered in the many messages all over rakuten right now, but something that I’m not quite clear on. I’ve just made the decision to invest the remainder of my nisa allowance for this year and noticed that nothing has been updated on rakuten si...

Re: Tax-loss harvesting at THEO
Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere already, but Theo are going to start doing tax "optimising", which seems to basically be tax loss harvesting: https://news.money-design.com/2019-04-10 This along with the recent news about the "colour palette" changes (fees reducing f...
