Like others, we got some advice to paint roof and exterior at 10 years. We waiting and ended up doing it at 18 years, along with the exterior walls, caulking etc. I took a good look at the pieces of roofing they replaced and they were pretty worn. We got some kind of metal tiles, coated paint with reflective paint, and it did cut the interior temp 2C upstairs.
