What’s the easiest way to “BUY” a long-term visa/residency?

What’s the easiest way to “BUY” a long-term visa/residency?

Post by Mareven »

RetireJapan

I just hit 40 with a couple hundred thousand USD in savings + passive income, and I’d love to spend the rest of my life chilling in Japan and doing my own thing (game and app development).

As a “third culture kid” I’ve been out of place in every place so I don’t mind if I’m never going to be accepted as “one of them” and all that. I just want a nice house in a quiet, green environment (preferably in Hokkaido; I’ve never seen snow!) and keep to myself and work on my passion projects.

It seems other than paying someone to marry me, my best option is probably a business/startup visa for a software company.

Has anyone else here been through this, or knows how any of this works? Thanks in advance for any advice you can give! <3

If you can make it to Kutchan (Niseko, Hokkaido) for June 26th then this free seminar might be just what you're looking for:

Jetro could be useful.
I would start with reading the info here:
https://www.jetro.go.jp/en/invest/setting_up/
Aiming to retire at 60 and live for a while longer. 95% index funds (eMaxis Slim etc), 5% Japanese dividend stocks.
