I get paid on Friday. My monthly salary is about 450k so I am now planning to invest another 250k and just live frugally until next pay check. I think this year I'll just invest half of my salary since I'm just sitting around doing remote work and playing videogames anyway, nothing too exciting happening in my life. Next year I'll cut my investments to 100k a month.
Your life, your money.
I don't think anyone would suggest investing and risking not being able to pay the bills. So make sure you can take care of regular outgoings and have some put aside for an emergency. Then invest as much as you comfortably can. Your future self will thank you for the effort.
that's good advice.

by the way, I attached two screenshots of my investment, on the off chance I did something wrong could someone point it out? For example, I am just doing spot investments instead of automatic...is there any financial benefit of doing automatic?

once again thanks for the help guys, highly appreciate it.

Doing automatic gives you access to the Tsumitate NISA allowance. If you're not really planning on filling up growth and tsumitate this year then there's functionally no difference.

From a behavioral standpoint, I prefer tsumitate because I can set it and forget about its existence. Looking daily and trying to time your purchases is just unnecessary stress.

Could you explain the filing up growth part? Maybe I should also set a monthly automatic transfer.

Also, I would like someone to check that I did it correctly based on the screenshots.

NISA is made up of 2 parts, growth (成長枠) and tsumitate (積立枠). There is a yearly limit for growth (2.4M) and tsumitate (1.2M).
When you do spot purchases, the growth limit is used up. If you use up your yearly limit, you can't make NISA purchases anymore.

As for your screenshot, the bottom one was made to the Tokutei account and not NISA so it won't be tax free. The rest seem ok.

do I now have to file some documents for taxes? what if I remove it in time?

You can sell it and just buy again but its like 3000 yen so not sure if its worth the effort.
Because you chose Tokutei in Rakuten, any capital gains made from a sale will be withheld at source so you don't need to file taxes for it (assuming you don't file your taxes and just do yearly adjustments as a company employee).

Okay, I guess if it doesn't make a difference in the long run I can just leave it and do it correctly from next time.

About the growth and tsumitate...if I run out of growth, can I just switch to the tsumitate or how does that work?

Thanks for taking the time to answer my questions, really appreciate it!

You can do that but if you're just buying All Country anyways (and in not large quantities) just doing a set and forget tsumitate and occasional spot purchases using growth seems to be the better option.

For example, do 100k a month tsumitate and do spot purchases when you feel you have the ability to do so.

The bit in brackets - does this just mean if you do file your own taxes you should be including gains made in tokutei accounts? I thought as it was withheld at source we don't need to do anything with these. Is that not right?

You're correct. Tokutei means you don't need to do it even if you file separately. It will only be relevant if you choose an Ippan account.
