These are all great suggestions on what to check, thanks @StockBeard! Noting all of this down :)

Just curious about this though:
- the sewage pipes were too close to "horizontal" which meant we had some issues with the flow. They did what they could to have it inclined a bit more.
I guess there's no real way to test this until you've actually moved in and started using the facilities right?

Right, we discovered that one maybe 2 or 3 months after moving in
