I love feedback, especially if it is constructive. Thank you :D

Actually, just yesterday on Mastodon someone recommended RetireJapan to someone else, and the person replied with 'but I'm not planning to stay here until retirement, is it still going to be useful' so you are probably right.

We have really struggled to grow organically (our word of mouth is okay but still not very 'discoverable' it seems). That was my main motivation for starting the YouTube channel.

A rebrand, eh?

My immediate 'buts':
-I like the name
-we have all the domains, social media, etc.
-a lot of people are aware of the site

None of these are unsurmountable of course. I'll start a new thread to think about alternative names for the site/ecosystem.

Jump on that bandwagon, yeah! I saw the New Years' recap of Nehorin Pahorin and they did this episode again, about ぎりぎりFIRE: https://www.nhk.jp/p/nehorin/ts/N1G2WK6 ... 6PZNXJKJK/

It was pretty cringe. One guy saved up 9m yen by age 22, and is now 'retired'. He has to eat grass from the park to avoid going over budget and broke up with his girlfriend because he couldn't afford to have a relationship

This is why I love you guys.

The ad copy just writes itself: "Do you want to be a rich prick in Japan? Come join us!"

Not a resolution (never do those), but an interesting tidbit I read earlier:

Your path is not straight, and your destination is not fixed.

And I’m signing up for swimming lessons this month...
As a cyclist (and a swimmer in the past), good luck with these things!

If not already, you might take a look at tokyocycle--really nice folks there.
Cheers. Signed up months ago thanks to you. They do seem lovely folk. Now I just made my first post.
Also just finished what must be my longest ever ride in January. Brrr. I’m not built for the cold anymore. But there is no way I’d use an indoor trainer.
