Blog post requests

Post by RetireJapan »

I'm always looking for ideas for blog posts, so if there is something you'd like to read about please post it here!

Can't promise I'll write about it, but I will definitely take a look and have a good think about it :)

A hypothetical-yet-practical guide to what to do when/if a crash comes, within the Ideco/NISA/Theo/cash/rebalancing/etc. scenario, with rationale.

I believe you mentioned this was already in the works, but I think you could combine some video guides with blog posts. Specifically, I think you could drastically increase your exposure and influence if you did video reviews (YouTube, Screencast, etc) of:

-iDeco
-NISA
-setting up an account with Rakuten, SBI, etc
-Walkthrough/guide of how to use the above interfaces
-Tax guide deductions etc

If you want to stick to just written/image materials, I would think that the following might be a fun discussion point:
-starting your own business OR
-how to set up a side business while a current employee in Japan
-Finance and Investing - how to benefit from the 2020 Olympics
-Glossary of finance and investment terms
-Social Lending (maneo.jp)
-Bitcoin (Japan represents over 50% of all trading and market volume)

I am sure I can come up with other ideas.

That's a nice idea, although it will be more like some musings along with questions... I'll put it on the list!

I'd like to get into video at some point, but it's going to take me learning some tech skills I don't currently have :)

Maybe in 2018 :D

A guide to reading and understanding fund info etc to help people make more informed choices when choosing their allocations. (Unless you've already done that).

I think that would fit in nicely with the glossary idea. Let's combining them.

That’s a nice idea and I’d like to see how far RetireJapan would get with it.

Personally I am interested in reading about RetireJapan’s portfolio allocations on a regular basis — like a monthly performance overview.

Regular performance overviews tend to be very common at many blogs about personal finance. I always enjoy reading them.

Funnily enough, that is the Patreon reward ;)

New blog idea (I have not searched if you did this before).
-Credit Reports in Japan

It might be interesting how Japan compiles credit records for foreigners, what does the CIC do, do we as consumers have access to our credit reports, etc.
