Is it possible to claim rent if full time working remote?

Long time lurker first time poster, hello everyone!

I am a full time (seishain) employee but have to do the kakutei shinkoku this year and was wondering about claiming for rent - is it possible to do as a full time employee? I have been working 100% remote since January 2020.

Thanks in advance, sorry if this is a silly question

Oh well, was worth asking - thank you for the reply!

The JapanFinance subreddit being bookmarked as well since it may be useful down the line :D

Don't forget to pay back your tax free commuting allowance at the same time ;-)

Sorry I was being facetious.

Most full-time employees get a tax free commuter allowance. Since you were talking about trying to claim tax back on your rent, I was pointing out that using the same reasoning you shouldn't be getting a commuter allowance if you work from home.
