Depends what she wants/how much she understands/whether she is willing to learn.

Tsumitate NISA international stock fund + taxable account bond fund(s) would be a reasonable thing to do.
A bunch of blue chip dividend paying Japanese companies in ordinary NISA might be another option.

I recommend you encourage her to read one of Takekawa Minako's books: https://amzn.to/3bUWg1h

They are very accessible and will take the burden off you :D

Well I’m in the Hawaii 5 o range and I chose the TNISA.
It just seemed easier. ( I think).
And just choose to do d stocks and shares funds for the next 10-15 years.
