Using accumulated points to pay a CC

I have read in the forums that some people recommend using points accumulated via CC purchase to pay the CC bill itself.

It is smart.

But, how is this done?

Say, for example, a Yahoo or Rakuten card.

On Rakuten, after the 12th of the month (until the 20th I think?) you can choose to pay for your balance using points. There's a ポイント支払い option under one of the hundreds of menu options on e-navi. Its fairly self-explanatory if you've been able to survive using e-navi until now.

Wow, I didn't know about this, and this seems to be the best way to use one's points as it allows you to change them all (well, non expiring ones at least) into direct money.

+1, very smart. Use the points, where points cannot be earned.

Just checked my Rakuten and the points payment window is 12th to 24th, so plenty of time to take advantage of it.
