I am an Australian moving to Japan with my wife and family in the next year, to possibly work for a few years and then retire, with no intention of returning to Australia.
In Australia, we have Superannuation, similar to 401k and other schemes globally. Within our Superannuation, we are able to have insurance for Life/Death, Total and Permanent Disability, and Income Protection.
I have searched through these forums for any scheme similar, yet it looks this doesn't exist in Japan. I also haven't been able to find if there is something similar in Nenkin or are there simple alternatives available?
Once I retire there will be no need for these products, they will become an unnecessary expense, but for the few short years I work I'll need them.
Any advice is appreciated on alternatives to insuring within Nenkin or similar.
