Where can I get advice on an insurance product?

Post by Foremost »

My wife and I are considering an annuity from Allianz and would appreciate professional eyes giving the policy a once-over. Where can we go for help?

Thanks, Ben.

Perhaps I should have noted this Allianz product is out of the US and not Japan.

My wife and I contacted more than a dozen advisors on that list and only _one_ was at all capable or interested in advising on anything but Japanese financial products. The one we spoke with at more length was trying to sell us an insurance wrapper.

Maybe someone here has personal experience with a trusted advisor and wouldn't mind referring us.

If it is a US-based product, perhaps an advisor in the US would be better than one based in Japan?
Aiming to retire at 60 and live for a while longer. 95% index funds (eMaxis Slim etc), 5% Japanese dividend stocks.
