Kitchen Cabinets / Cupboards

Post by kawasemi »

Anyone have any recommendations for buying kitchen cabinets / cupboards? (Don't need sink unit, as we have an island thingy already)

Not a huge challenge to find (I have a Lixil catalog here, and will inevitably end up doing the IKEA maze with the wife), but I'm just curious if any of you folks have any advice on companies to avoid, or units that have worked out particularly well for you.

We bought these two a few years back, no issues with them, they look nicer than the Lixil stuff IMO and are considerably cheaper. Not the most capacious though, so depends what you are after:

Nitori have them in various sizes and configurations. Worked well for us.

I highly recommend Nobilia Kitchens from Germany. They are not cheap but ours still looked almost new after 30 years of constant use. It’s not just my opinion either. The guy who bought our place did extensive house renovations but did not feel any need to update the kitchen at all.

Thanks! I just browsed their site (https://www.nobilia-k.com/) to see how "not cheap" (no prices to be found), so I have to assume it's one of those "If you have to ask how much, you can't afford it" situations. They do look awesome though, no doubt.
