I have a つみたてNISA with SBI.
I haven't paid anything into it this year so far, due to financial issues.
However, I am now able to max out this year's investable amount (400,000 yen).
All through 2021 and 2022, I paid in 33,333 yen each month via bank transfer from my crappy local bank.
This year, I set the monthly amount to 1000 yen, but I haven't paid in anything.
(I received an email once a month telling me there was not enough funds in my account to make the transfer to the つみたてNISA)
Right now I want to pay in 220,000 yen in one go. I have already transferred the money to my SBI account and it is just sitting there.
For the remaining 180,000 yen of 2023's allowance, I plan to set up monthly withdrawal once again (30,000 yen x 6 (July to December) months).
I have never paid in a large lump sum before.
Can anyone with SBI teach me how to do it?
Do I just instruct them to take a "bonus" payment on a date I specify?
Any help would be appreciated!

I don't have SBI so I can't give you step by step instructions but on Rakuten, you just go in and edit your tsumitate settings and add a bonus month. In this case, you add June/July as a bonus month and add the amount you would like to add.

I see.
Presumably there are people who just whack in the full 400,000 yen in January of each year using this "bonus" feature?

You still need to have the monthly payments. I believe it is possible to set the monthy payment to 100 yen and invest the rest as a lump sum in January if you choose.Roger Van Zant wrote: ↑Tue Jun 27, 2023 5:30 am Presumably there are people who just whack in the full 400,000 yen in January of each year using this "bonus" feature?
