Hi, as a part of my learning I found the following fund

https://www.fidelity.co.jp/funds/detail/217004/F

In long term it seems to outperform emaxis slim all country, but nobody mentions it here so I wonder what makes it “bad”?

I did google on what bluechipstock means and I suppose all country fund has many of those as well.

Thanks a lot

To find the answer to that, you have to search the fund information for the fees. Use an online translator if you can't read Japanese. They can be hard to find, especially if they are expensive. I eventually found them on page 8 of the latest PDF report.

Spoiler: 3.3% purchase fee + 1.639% annual fee

My personal conclusion: avoid this fund!

I agree with northSaver (at first I couldn't believe the fees were that high but northSaver is correct). That is just a US high tech fund (Microsoft, Apple and NVDIA are three top holdings) so it isn't surprizing that it is currently beating eMaxis all-country. Nothing here that justifies those fees.

If you have access to the US market, try VGT, FTEC, IWY/IWF, VUG, MGK, SMH/SOXX, and so on.
