Pension Refund 3 year rule

Hi
I previously left Japan and had three years of my pension refunded, as I needed the money at the time and was not sure I would return here.
I had paid about 6 years Japan pension at the time, so I lost 3 years...

Now that I am back in Japan I wonder if I back pay 3 years, will I get the other 3 years also back?

Has anyone tried this?

I believe taking the refund automatically cancels all your pension contributions up to that point. This is why we recommend people do not take it if they have paid more than three years and there is any chance of them coming back to Japan.

Could have been worse! You only lost three years...

I know people that lost 10+ when they left (before the 25 years vesting went to 10).

Time to make up for lost time and maybe open an iDeCo account ;)

Actualy I lost about 7 years in total, as I left Japan twice and did this procedure a couple of times.....
But as you say otherrs have lost more.

Yes I have already opened an iDeco and am investing 23,000 a month.

Thanks for the recommendation.
