Rakuten iDeCo--only 27 funds?

Post by MyTime »

Apologies if this is a dumb question. I just recently opened my iDeCo account with Rakuten. I logged into the account today for the first time and was surprised to find that there only seems to be 27 funds available. That doesn't seem like many options ! Am I missing something, or are there really only 27 funds available for a Rakuten iDeCo??

Hi MT

I think that sounds about right. You can see the offerings from each provider here (just click on the name of the provider): http://www.dcnenkin.jp/search/commission.php

I also use Rakuten, and just chose the cheapest version for each asset class: international equities, emerging market equities, and japanese equities :)

Thanks for the reply RJ. I had a look at the list you linked to and most of the other providers seem to offer an even smaller range of funds. I guess I was expecting a set up similar to NISA.

Well anyway, it simplifies things I suppose. I think my allocation is going to be very similar to yours.

Agree. SBI has a very diverse fund lineup for iDeCo.
