Yes, but never used the English language support.
Very disappointing how the service has dropped over the last 15 years or so. It's almost like they want customers to leave

Re: Akiya Property all the rage - anyone buying one?
I wondered if this algorithm is just pushing it to us cause we are in Japan or is this a global phenomenon. I think it is really attractive at the moment because real estate prices in many countries are now at the point where normal people just can't afford to buy a home. So to see a 'free' house i...

Me, I'm a fan of Monex Vision. At first, I was a bit dubious about it's suggestion of adding more Japanese equity, or REITS or Emerging Market equity to reduce volatility, or to increase potential gains, but you know what they say about diversification being the only free lunch around? Adding extra...

The success stories are mostly from A. YouTubers who monetized the entire journey B. Those with carpentry skills who could add a lot of value, and revitalize a tarnished gem and little labour cost. C. Those that already knew and loved the community the old house was in. I think B and C are pretty e...

Your employer will have documentation. You should be able to get it from HR (人事課).

Re: Calculation of retirement from private + public with deferment
Assuming no changes in circumstances (same employer, payments, etc), is that ~2 million yen what I should expect? It seems extremely low. I would understand 4 but 2 is just above the poverty level (~1.3 right?). I feel I am not understanding something here. Japanese nenkin is not designed to provid...

Re: Writing a will
I'm in the process of starting down this road. Having read the RetireWiki entry on wills, my plan is to put together a "Holograph Will". Anyone been/going through the process? Any tips or things I need to watch out for? How did you align with a will in another country (UK in my case)? Tha...
