I have been waiting forever to get the notification about my account being migrated, but still (Jan 2025) have not. I got in touch with them again recently and they mentioned that my account has not yet been selected, but they will inform me when it is.

I don’t really know what’s best, but I’d rather it just be done so that it’s all over with! I don’t like this limbo state!

Curious if anyone else here is the same and if they have any new info.

I’m still also curious about whether all the funds and stocks I own will be transferable.

No change (request) here and happy for it to stay as is, as the old IBLLC account can hold multiple currencies - which is a clear benefit over the forced JPY only cash account in the IBSJ brokerage accounts. Maybe account size also plays a role.

Just an update on the MUFJ TV-madoguchi approach to funding an IB account. It seems they stopped allowing international transfers to be made via that route in April and now ask you to do it online. The letter I received suggests yen-yen transfers will be charged at ¥2500 minimum which is a lot more than the ¥900 I was previously being charged. Will need to actually have a go, but it feels like MUFJ may no longer be an affordable route.
